What place does a tattoo hurt the most?

  • I'm getting a tattoo on my neck (just below the hairline) and down past my shoulders. Will it be less painful or more? I included a picture of what I am getting done.

  • I have a tattoo on the back of my neck and it goes down towards my shoulder and spine-Im not going to lie, it DID hurt. Any tattoo you get near your spine is going to hurt-but its tolerable. If you really want it then you can sit through it :) You can always take breaks too.


  • well around the rib area and on your wrist is where it will hurt more...i got one on my shoulder and its not so painful but towards the middle of your back it will hurt like hell!!!


  • everyone is different. my neck i fell sound asleep for, over bone and breastplate and shins and undersides of delicate tissue like breasts and undersides of arms feel like the skin is actually tearing and ripping. even guys cringe under the arms a bit and over the shins and breastplate.


  • im guessing the bottom of ur foot, the roof of your mouth or right inbetween the fingers would be the worst :P

    but the basic point is that all tattoos hurt but atleast the pain goes away. it'll be quite painful on the spine because there's little cushioning covering the bone but hey... no pain no gain right? :p


  • Anywhere thats not too fleshy like on your ankle, hand or spine is gonna hurt. Best place for least pain is probably your bottom or arm. Its not totally unbearable but it will hurt.


  • everyone is different but I have to say the most painful tattoo i've gotten is when i got my elbow tattooed to finish my half sleeve. it was very painful. My ribs hurt bad.. but i wouldn't say it was unbearable.


  • i would say basically any where... the neck the wrist the ankles and the lower back hurts like crap so im guessing usually when its near a bone thats the most place for it to hurt
