Caffeine - help!!!!!!!!!?

  • Caffeine sensitive/ intolerant or just high acid?

    I'm confused about this situation and would love some help:

    I can't take coffee - or iced capps for some reason in the mornings. If I drink a cold (mainly made out of coffee) caffeinated drink (Iced Cap) I'm really energetic and alert for a couple of hours. Then I start getting this nasty feeling that I'm gonna throw it all back up- very hard to describe but overall the exact feeling you get when you're about to throw up!
    On the other hand, even if I do get past coffee's bitterness, I keep getting stomach aches, a stuffy head and mainly remain unfocused and uncomfortable for the rest of the day.
    I can handle carbonated caffeine drinks just fine- ie. Coke/ Pepsi and all.
    If i drink milk in the morning- immediate stomachache.

    I am really confused about this- does this mean I'm intolerant to something or do I just have a very acidic stomach- because it does feel that way some times (as if my stomach is eating itself out!)
    Any help or insight would be much loved!! =D


  • Not sure about you're stomach exactly, it could be possible you're sensitive to caffeine. Or you could be allergic to the coffee beans themselves. There are many cases of abnormal allergic reactions to everything (I'm allergic to fluoride, myself -- that's the nasty pink mouthwash they make you rinse with at the dentist, haha). If you really need the energy, I'd drink green tea (Snapple makes a really tasty natural green tea; I drink it every day). Least negative effects on your body. Red Bulls will make your blood sticky and run you a nice risk of a stroke. My advice to you is to do a little coffee bean research and see if there are any cases of allergies/allergic reactions.   • i would get your self checked ma be your acid level is to high and that is dangerous or maby your lactose intarlerent and ma be you should try red bull monsters or quake insted of coffee


  • Possibly because caffeine is bad for you. It causes head aches, digestive problems, irritation of the stomach and bladder, peptic ulcers, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, anxiety, and depression. Then the heat or extreme cold from drinks is unhealthy for your teeth. I suggest eating breakfast instead, something small and light. It's been tested and found to be true that eating and apple first thing in the morning gives you more energy then a cup of coffee. As for the milk, it just might be too heavy for your stomach first thing.


  • Do you eat food, not sure how much food you eat but coffee will make me hungry, speeded matabolism maybe, i try to eat something. I add cream to my coffee to cut acid but that seems to upset your belly, try soymilk, I guess. Just drink the sodas would be a lot better it sounds like. Definitely see a doctor if you can, maybe you have acid reflux.
